In this series, I endeavour to conjure the feminine essence/crux. The works are painted with vigour and spontaneity, using acrylic-paint washes and splashes combined with oil-block scribble lines that, for me signify the stains of guilt embedded in womenhood. The suggestive figures are abstractions of what we identify as “female”, combining genetic forms with multiple breasts. These metaphors are set within an undefined space of colour and chaos, emphasizing both the harmonious and explosive relationship with our own environment and society.
